We had great fun getting to know 2011 wedding clients Brittiny and Brian while photographing their engagement portraits at Point Defiance Park! We met up at Fort Nisqually, an attraction deep in Point Defiance that we’ve somehow neglected in our photo shoots. Turns out it’s a great stop for portraits — and we didn’t even bother going inside its walls!
We also found some beautifully sunlit ferns near Fort Nisqually that were worth a quick detour.
Then we headed off to Camp 6, a historic logging exhibit that has been featured in many of our photos over the years. Little did we realize at the time that these would be our last engagement portrait session there! Sadly, lack of funds has led to the closure and eventual dismantling of this gem.
Brittiny and Brian’s two happy-go-lucky dogs, who had been in the car up to this point eagerly awaiting their release, finally got their wishes. After running out some of their overflowing energy, they joined our soon-to-be-newlyweds for a few portraits around Camp 6. Dogs often accompany us on our engagement portrait sessions, which is something we, dog-lovers ourselves, always enjoy!
We’re so excited to photograph Brittiny and Brian’s main event in a few months at two of our favorite wedding venues: The Church of St. Patrick, a historic stone church located only a few blocks from our home, and Union Station, the train station turned federal courthouse that just celebrated its 100th birthday this year!
