The first-ever Wedding Walk Tacoma is taking place next Sunday, Feb. 20, and Wallflower Photography has accepted an invitation to attend! We’ll be joining a small, diverse group of wedding vendors — a Who’s Who of Tacoma wedding professionals — in this very unique and exciting variation on the age-old wedding show. It’s such a cool idea: Wedding Walk Tacoma is a walking tour linking many of Tacoma’s top wedding venues. Each one will be decorated to the hilt by a real wedding planner and will host a select set of caterers, florists, photographers and more, all available to answer your questions. Best yet, they’ll be serving food and drink samples!

As a bride or groom, there’s no decision that has a bigger impact on your wedding than your choice of wedding venue, and there’s no better way to evaluate wedding venues than to see them in person. You just can’t do that at traditional wedding shows, like the Tacoma Wedding Show that took place at the Tacoma Dome last month. There, you can only look at photos, and you get overwhelmed with informational handouts from hundreds of other vendors. We speak from experience, having attended that show five times. We just feel it isn’t an environment that promotes quality interactions between brides and grooms and wedding vendors.

Wedding Walk isn’t an original concept, but it’s going to work particularly well in Tacoma, where we have a number of great venues within a very short walk of each other. You can even hop on the Link light rail to save yourself a few steps. The tour starts at Courtyard Marriott Tacoma, hops next door to the Pacific Grill Event Center, then heads to Tacoma’s Museum District: Tacoma Art Museum, Union Station (technically not a museum, but close), Washington State History Museum, and ending at Museum of Glass for wedding dresses, formal wear and the after-party.

We’ll be at Washington State History Museum, a really fun event space where we shot Alli and Dan’s wedding last March. We’ll be joined by a diverse group of wedding vendors headlined by Snuffins Catering and Blitz & Co Florist, and coordinated by Dawnet Davis of A Piece Of Cake Events. You can see the complete list of vendors (with only one of each kind per venue), and learn more about this unique event, at

Hope to see you there!
